In fact, the only downside I can find is that those who like to write on their wall calendars will struggle to find space as each day's square is pre-filled with mathematics. The calendar itself is of high quality and well-printed on relatively thick stock, which is excellent. However, I have spot checked a number of them and haven't found any mistakes yet. I have not checked every single problem for accuracy. Other times, you'll find yourself so interested in the mathematical ideas underpinning the problem that you could easily spend all day reading about what you've learned. Sometimes, you'll just spend a few minutes getting your mental workout while solving some equation. Questions are drawn from all different disciplines within mathematics, so you'll get a nice mix of ideas, and many of them are just plain fun to think about. I think that's great because it means the calendar will appeal to and challenge both budding mathematicians and professionals. Others will give you a real mental workout and a few will challenge even expert mathematicians. Some will require just a few lines of algebra. Some are remarkably simple arithmetic that almost anyone should be able to solve. The problems themselves are an excellent mix of mathematical topics and difficulty levels. As any mathematician will tell you, though, knowing the solution is far less important than understanding why it is the solution, so you'll have fun working through each problem. In addition to attractive monthly art featuring colorful fractal patterns, each day features a math problem whose solution is that particular date. It's good to give yourself a little mental workout every day, and this calendar provides a great way to do it.
